I first saw FK in the fall of 1994; so you've been around longer than I have. And no fanfic for the next ten years (except for what I wrote myself). I wasn't on line yet.
For me, one of the joys of the series—besides the obvious—was seeing Toronto actually playing Toronto. So many shows are filmed here but set elsewhere, usually some American city. With FK, there were references to real places and shots of streets I knew. Far too many of the places are now gone; but that's another matter.
